This book was chef’s kiss—absolutely amazing! I was hooked from start to finish, completely wrapped up in the mystery, trying to piece it all together. At times, I was way off, but there were a few clues I managed to catch onto. The story was so well-crafted that I had to reread it just to soak in all its brilliance and appreciate every detail. It’s a short, light, and easy read, yet it delivers so much depth and intrigue. I highly recommend it!

This book reminded me of a darker version of “The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires” except it involves 1 male detective. I really enjoyed this!

The Ageless is a mystery with a supernatural twist set in the early 1900s. It’s a quick and easy read, and I was surprised by the unexpected ending. The story wraps up nicely but leaves just enough intrigue to make me want more. I highly recommend it for fans of mysteries!

From the Personal Archives of Richard Matthews - London, 1905
What follows are the recovered journal entries of Richard Matthews—a private investigator by trade—and his involvement in the infamous case of London's vanishing children. These documents, long thought lost, shed new light on one of the city's most perplexing mysteries, and the man Commissioner Edward Richard Henry trusted to solve.
The official records confirm 12 disappearances—9 of which were children. With no signs of forced entry and no helpful clues, the lead inspector assumes foreign spies are the culprit, eager to get their hands on naval shipping secrets.
But these journal entries suggest a darker tale.
Whether these pages contain the ramblings of a man lost to his vices, or a truth too terrible for history to acknowledge, I leave to the reader's judgment. The journal, along with its accompanying letters, offers a window into one of London's most enigmatic cases—a mystery that has come to be known as "The Ageless."
What follows is his story, presented in its entirety for the first time.
Reader, be warned: some doors, once opened, cannot be easily closed.

Q&A
Q) What inspired you to write a horror story set in London in 1905?
A) It was a collaboration between a story working its way in my head, and an engaging conversation I had with my older daughter. We went on a lengthy talk about supposed historical truths that were actual BS, and after that rabbit hole of laughs and harsh realities, a light flickered on right next to the original concept of this story, and thus began my journey into researching this particular era to see if it was possible to fit a narrative. Lo and behold, it was.
Q) Who is Richard Matthews, and what makes him a unique protagonist in the world of private investigators?
A) This is a bit of difficult question to answer without giving too much away. But, I will say that when we first meet Richard, he's a broken man. He's left a large part of himself behind somewhere we no not, but what's left is a husk of a man seemingly seeking to fill that void at the bottom of a bottle each and every night. The Commissioner's calling is incentive he needs to realize he's not quite done yet with the world, nor is it done with him.
Q) What is the significance of the quote, "If he be Mr. Hyde, I shall be Mr. Seek," and how does it relate to the story?
A) I love this question. The quote comes from the book "Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." Hyde is essentially the evil lurking in men, eager to come out, and Richard is in search of such an evil, while trying to keep his own at bay. Reality requires no secret concoctions like elixirs or gamma radiation to release the inner demon, it's present day in and day out, only willfully held back to some degree. Richard knows this far too well, making him the perfect seeker for such a foe.
Q) How does the character of Julia tie into Luca's origins and the larger narrative?A) Julia is proof a larger world, that offers a bit of a twisted connection between both Richard and Luca. They share a common thread, and it begins and ends with Julia. As far as what that means for Richard, well, I supposed we'll find out soon...
